I am a free-lance copy-editor for the Würth Stiftung. In 2010/2011 I was responsible for the English version of the Swiridoff book, The Capella Palatina in Palermo, pub. 2011, with the restoration details, coordinated by Thomas Dittelbach. He wanted to show me the Capella Palatina later but the dates did not work out.
By chance my husband and I are in Palermo next Friday, October 23rd. Would it be possible for us to get a tour of the Capella Palatina on Friday, including if possible the lower church. Having written about it so intensively, I would like really like to see the original. We are leaving on Monday, so if you could answer by the 16th I would be grateful. Thank you very much, Merryl Zepf

Is the Cappella Palatina open to visitors on Sundays? What hours? I see some conflicting information online. We will be in Palermo all day on Sunday, September 27th and very much want to visit the Palazzo and the Cappella. I was unable to translate into English from your website, so was not sure of the hours that the chapel is oepn. Thank you so much.

“I knew right from the start, that we laid your eyes on the perfect work of art, I was sure of a God before, but I know certainly that he must exist because He created this…”.

Dear tourist, we're happy you liked this wonderful monument. Soon could be possible to see also the Odighitria. We are working to make it possible and offer to visitors more history and culture to enjoy in this beautiful city of Palermo.

I'm happy not for only visiting beautifull monument, but recognize it like stil working place for worship and prayer, as it was thaught and done. Morning mass with presence only a few person is one of my best impressions of my private pilgrimate by the monuments of byzantine art in Sicily, as icon painter. I want show it to my friends-icon painters from Poland in not far future, I hope... Thank you for perfect work in this page! Only one makes me unhappy: I didn't saw fresco staccato Madonna Hodegetria...
